A Seoulite Thanksgiving
Turkey. Stuffing. Cranberry Sauce. Pumpkin Pie. It’s time for Thanksgiving… but turkeys in Seoul? Fugheddaboutit! After a while, Seoulites adjust to celebrate the Korean holidays. But that doesn’t stop my friend Dorothy from throwing the best Thanksgiving party in the city! We have much to be thankful for even if it seems gloomy these days. We’re living in a golden era y’all!

It was a potluck and everyone did a superb job! But Dorothy certainly went all out with the turkey and the ham. There was some amazing mac and cheese and another cheese croissantpie that Tricia made.

There was even a delegation from ASEAN - the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Left to Right: Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Singapore! Just kidding. They're all Korean, but it goes to show that Koreans have varied appearances.

Awesome potato salad. Sorry, there would be more pictures of the food, but the Seoulite was too busy stuffing his face and forgot all about it. Most of these pictures are from Young. Smart man went on a new diet that night I believe and his hands actually had time to take photos instead of holding a fork.

I did manage to capture the evidence that everyone tried 'a little bit' of each of these cupcakes. These are fancy cupcakes akin to Magnolia (NYC) or Sprinkles (LA) in price, but not in taste honey. They need to go back and try again! If you see them in a fancy department store, ask for a sample first!

There were lots of people from Arirang at the party. Here Jackson is wondering when his friend Lamont would show.
Wow. That was a lot of food and good times. Thanksgiving ruins every attempt to diet. But if you’re still nursing a food coma or now you feel your pants getting tighter, at least you’re not eating like Paula Deen and slapping pats of butter on everything. Here she is making a bacon egg burger ‘brunch sandwich’ with donuts. You won’t feel as bad after watching this.
